Dua from the Last Two Verses of Surah Al-Baqarah

Source: Quran 2:286

English Translation

"Our Lord, do not take us to account if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not place upon us a burden like that placed upon those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with more than we can bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Protector, so help us against the disbelieving people."

When to Recite This Dua

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him. This dua is a comprehensive plea for mercy, acknowledging human weakness. The phrase 'do not burden us with more than we can bear' is a powerful reminder that Allah knows your capacity — and He promises not to test you beyond it.
