Surah Al-Fajr (89:27)

— Surah Al-Fajr, Ayah 27

English Translation

"O reassured soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], and enter among My [righteous] servants, and enter My Paradise."

Explanation & Connection to Overcoming Harmful Habits

This is the destination — the nafs al-mutma'innah, the soul at peace. After struggling through the stages of the nafs that commands evil (ammarah) and the self-reproaching soul (lawwamah), the believer can reach this state of inner tranquility. Imagine living without the constant cycle of urge, indulgence, and guilt. That peace is not a fantasy — it is a Quranic promise for those who persevere in purifying their souls. Every day of resistance, every prayer for strength, every genuine repentance moves you closer to becoming this person. The soul at peace is not one that never faced temptation; it is one that fought through it until it found rest in Allah.
