Surah Ar-Ra'd (13:28)

— Surah Ar-Ra'd, Ayah 28

English Translation

"Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured."

Explanation & Connection to Overcoming Harmful Habits

Many people turn to pornography or masturbation seeking relief from stress, loneliness, or emotional pain. But the relief is temporary and followed by deeper emptiness. Allah tells us the real source of peace: His remembrance. This is not a metaphor — neuroscience confirms that dhikr and meditation activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing cortisol and genuinely calming the brain. When you feel the urge, replacing the harmful habit with dhikr is not just spiritual advice — it is rewiring your brain's reward pathways. The Urge app is built on this principle: replacing the destructive cycle with the remembrance of Allah, which provides real, lasting tranquility.
